DESCRIPTION
This training provides a broad overview of valuable information on most aspects of what is involved prior to, during and after the installation of guardrail and associated devices.
This training is recommended for State DOT Engineer/Inspector, installation work crews, guardrail contractor company employees that are responsible for the location, installation and maintenance of various guardrail and terminal sections. This training is recommended for new guardrail company owners, employees that are new to the guardrail industry and those individuals that have guardrail experience and would like to pick up new ideas and brush up on their current skills.
Participants in this class will learn receive instruction in:
- Identification and location of appropriate sources of information to get the job done right the first time,
- Recognition and assessment of the topography of a work site including exposure to all the different site conditions.
- Proper layout of a work site.
- Location, installation and maintenance of guardrail and terminal sections.
- Documentation of material quantities.
- Documentation of inspections performed at a work site.
- Proper documentation of incidents observed and job progress at a work site.
