ATSSA welcomes David J. Bell as Director of Government Relations

(Washington, D.C.) - David J. Bell joined ATSSA in January 2018 as Director of Government Relations.

Mr. Bell will develop federal advocacy activities in support of ATSSA’s legislative objectives and advance roadway safety on Capitol Hill.

“I am thrilled that David is joining our advocacy team on Capitol Hill,” said Nate Smith, ATSSA’s Vice President of Government Relations. “His experience in the transportation construction industry will bring tremendous value to our efforts in reducing fatalities and serious injuries through roadway safety infrastructure investments.”

Mr. Bell previously worked with the Portland Cement Association (PCA) as a Government Affairs Manager. In this position, he was responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and advocating on a variety issues at the state and federal levels of government that fell under each of PCA’s reporting committees (Environment and Energy, Transportation and Infrastructure, Occupational Health and Safety). In addition, he assisted and managed the day-to-day management of PCA's PAC and Fly-In.

Prior to that, Mr. Bell worked at Prime Advocacy, where he managed 24 legislative conferences for an array of trade associations while leading business development efforts resulting in 20 percent growth in annual revenue. Mr. Bell also worked in the offices of Congressman Jon Runyan (R-NJ-3) and Congressman John Adler (D-NJ-3).

Mr. Bell is originally from New Jersey and earned his B.A. in Criminal Justice/Political Science from Rutgers University, New Brunswick.

ATSSA’s core purpose is to advance roadway safety. ATSSA represents the roadway safety industry with effective legislative advocacy and a far-reaching member partnership.
