3M Pledge Wall raises nearly $18,000 for ATSS Foundation

Foundation thankful for 3M’s commitment to supporting its programs

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (March 4, 2020) – The American Traffic Safety Services Foundation is pleased to announce that 3M raised $17,791 during the month of January, including during ATSSA’s 50th Annual Convention & Traffic Expo in New Orleans.

This was the fifth year 3M has hosted a pledge wall at the convention to support The Foundation’s programs. The St. Paul, Minn.-based company sponsored the pledge wall and matched donations up to $5,000.

“Their continued dedication to help The Foundation really makes a difference in what we’re able to do for scholarship recipients and promoting work zone safety,” said Foundation President David Krahulec, who is president of Pennsylvania-based Horizon Signal Technologies. “It’s through efforts of companies like this that we’re able to do the work of The Foundation.”

The ATSS Foundation is the charitable arm of ATSSA. It was formed in 1988 with the core purpose to promote roadway safety through charitable giving and public awareness programs. Among its programs are college scholarships for the loved ones of people killed in work zone crashes.

“On behalf of 3M Transportation Safety Division, we are honored to have once again sponsored the Pledge Wall that helps raise funds for The ATSS Foundation and allows us to give back to our industry,” said David Wilk, area director for the U.S. and Canada for 3M’s Transportation Safety Division. “Donations would not have been possible without the support of our customers and ATSSA members. We want to thank them for participating with us to maximize contributions to The Foundation.”

3M started the pledge wall in 2016 using a Post-it for each donation, but in 2019 moved from the office supply staple to a virtual pledge wall. It has proven popular among donors. Last year, the company raised more than $15,000 in January.
