Recording of Town Hall on ATSSA’s online & virtual training options now available

If you couldn’t tune in yesterday, you can now watch ATSSA’s second Town Hall in which we heard from ATSSA staff, a master instructor and two members who have been using the online training resources.

“Innovations in Online Training to Keep Your Employees Engaged" covered the many options ATSSA now offers for training and the changes implemented to meet members’ needs after social distancing guidelines and travel restrictions related to COVID-19 limited the opportunity for in-person classes.

Tuesday’s panel included

  • Cindy Williams, President, Time Striping Inc.
  • Dave Waldo, T2/LTAP Manager, Alaska Department of Transportation
  • Eric Perry, ATSSA Master Instructor and Director of Innovation & Technical Services
  • Jessica Scheyder, ATSSA Training Program Manager

Perry provided a demonstration of ATSSA’s new virtual training and the panelists discussed how that training bridges geographical barriers, allowing students in various locations to gather online and interact live with master instructors who are subject matter experts.

Waldo said his department has been using the new training format and “it’s going really well.”

Williams said her team has continued working at full throttle throughout this unprecedented time and so the training has been crucial for her workforce.

“We’re still working. We have to be trained,” she said.

ATSSA’s first Town Hall addressed the government response to COVID-19 and infrastructure issues. The recording of that session is also available.
