ATSSA’s Government Relations Team reaching out to political leaders during Democratic and Republican national conventions

Team is making key contacts during this week's Democratic and next week's GOP convention

The Democratic National Convention kicks off today and our Government Relations Team is on the move, making contact with members of Congress in support of ATSSA’s interests in roadway safety.

While he won’t be able to be there in person,  Vice President of Government Relations Nate Smith will be taking part in virtual conversations with political leaders about key ATSSA issues including cybersecurity and technology, energy and the environment, and the role of the private sector in economic recovery.

The Democratic convention begins today and runs through Thursday. The Republican National Convention is scheduled for next week, Aug. 24-27.

“Participating in the Republican and Democratic National Conventions every four years allows ATSSA’s voice to be heard by elected officials, party leaders and future administration officials,” Smith said. “These conversations ensure that infrastructure, transportation and roadway safety policies are considered when the parties start thinking about and crafting future legislation and regulations. As the voice of roadway safety, it’s imperative that ATSSA continues to build relationships and speak loudly for robust funding and commonsense policies that will save lives on roadways all across the country.”
