The jointly sponsored Transportation Research Board (TRB) – ATSSA Traffic Control Device (TCD) Challenge has won recognition for its project partner, the Committee on Traffic Control Devices as a TRB “2018 Blue Ribbon Committee.”

President Trump announced plans to nominate Raymond Martinez to be the Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration on Sept. 26.

On Wednesday, Oct. 11, ATSSA Chair Debra Ricker submitted written testimony to the House Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, highlighting ATSSA's strong belief that roadway safety must remain a critical focal point of any new transportation legislation.

In 2013, Traffic and Safety Engineer for the Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT), Willy Sorenson, was asked by the then-Iowa DOT Director, Paul Trombino, to research which states were posting fatality counts on their Dynamic Message Signs (DMS). 

Now the storms have passed, and it is time to support those affected by hurricanes Harvey and Irma, including our ATSSA members who are working to rebuild what was damaged or lost.
