Nearly 3,500 to convene for ATSSA’s 48th Annual Convention & Traffic Expo

Largest U.S. trade show for roadway safety industry to be held in San Antonio

ATSSA’s Annual Convention & Traffic Expo is marking its 48th year in San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 26 to 30, 2018. Event attendance has grown to nearly 3,500 people, with more than 200 exhibiting companies showcasing the latest industry products and services on more than 200,000 square feet of exhibit space—making it the largest trade show for roadway safety products and services in the U.S.

ATSSA’s Convention & Traffic Expo is the premier event for roadway safety professionals and transportation officials nationwide and internationally. The event brings together business leaders, government officials, manufacturers and corporate roadway personnel involved in nearly every aspect of roadway safety. A wide variety of cutting-edge traffic safety solutions, state-of-the-art roadway safety vehicles and heavy equipment ranging from striping trucks to truck-mounted attenuators will be displayed on the exhibit floor.

A high-quality line up of education and information sessions introduce attendees to new safety innovations and provide opportunities to discuss ongoing industry issues and trends. These sessions were developed through research and member surveys to provide the most beneficial and timely information available in roadway safety and infrastructure. As part of its commitment to address member needs and concerns, ATSSA will introduce numerous business sessions at this year’s Convention & Traffic Expo on Jan. 29 and 30.

The Roadway Safety Data Open Forum will make a second appearance Jan. 30 at the Convention & Traffic Expo. This year's open forum will center on the tools and techniques used to organize crash data, the process through which crash countermeasures are evaluated and assigned value, and how these data sets are used to prioritize road safety investment. Speakers from the Federal Highway Administration Office of Safety, the Roadway Safety Foundation, and ESRI, among others, will provide an overview, followed by a panel discussion.

The Foundation is ATSSA's charitable organization, and will hold its annual Golf Classic Tournament and Sporting Clays Event on Jan. 26 to raise funds for its programs including The Roadway Worker Memorial Scholarship Program, The National Work Zone Memorial, and the Experience Camps Travel Scholarship. These programs assist and support injured or fallen roadway workers and their families. The National Work Zone Memorial, which lists names of roadway workers and others killed in work zones, will be displayed on the exhibit floor in Booth #434.
