The ATSS Foundation thanks all who donated on Giving Tuesday

The ATSS Foundation thanks everyone who supported it on Giving Tuesday.

The Foundation raised $3,850. That’s nearly 80 percent of its goal of $5,000 for the one-day event in which people worldwide support worthwhile causes.

The Foundation works daily to make zero deaths a reality through charitable programs and public awareness.

“On behalf of The ATSS Foundation, I want to thank all of those who participated in Giving Tuesday through donations. The important work of The Foundation would not be possible without the generosity of our ATSSA members and supporters,” said Dave Krahulec, chair of The ATSS Foundation Board.

Below are some of the highlights of the work of The Foundation this year:

  • Awarded 14 Roadway Worker Memorial Scholarships and three Chuck Bailey Memorial Scholarships for the 2020-21 academic year to the dependents of men and women killed or permanently disabled in work zone incidents.
  • Launched the Marty Weed Engineering Scholarship program.
  • Completed the first year of the Planned Giving program.
  • Created a virtual memorial to supplement the National Work Zone Memorial so it can be viewed remotely or in person.
  • Launched an activity book for children to promote work zone safety.
  • Added names to the National Work Zone Memorial for 2021. (Additional names may be submitted through Friday.)

Anyone who didn’t get the opportunity to support The Foundation during Giving Tuesday, can still donate online and be part of year-end giving.
