ATSSA’s Training Department and the Roadway Worker Protection Council are hosting a five-part Worker Safety Webinar Series. Each free session is led by Alex Kelly, CEO of SALT and Company, who directed Canada’s first Vision Zero Advocate Institute prior to starting her own firm. The first webinar, “Road Safety 101,” was held Nov. 9 and the second, “Effective Incident Response,” is planned for March 22. The webinars start at 2 p.m. ET.

 

Webinars are hosted through the Zoom Webinars platform. Recordings are available afterward if you can’t take part in a live session.

 

 

12/6/22, 2-3 p.m. ET – Sharing Safety: Marketing and Partnerships to Create Safer Streets. Participants were taught how to tell compelling stories about the work they are doing and leveraging partnerships to increase awareness of roadway workers and projects. Watch the recording.

 

9/13/22, 2-3 p.m. ET – Creating a Safety Culture. Learn how to create a strong safety culture within their organization. This webinar will discuss blending industry best practices and behavioral psychology that support behavior change within organizations. Watch the recording

 

6/7/22, 2-3 p.m. ET – Safety Supports. While no one ever wants to plan for a safety incident, it can and will happen. Learn how to support your team effectively and move through the process with grace and tact. Watch the recording.

 

3/22/22, 2-3 p.m. ET – Effective Incident Response. Participants will learn proactive ways to prepare for incident response, integrating critical safety planning into their operations for effective and efficient management in stressful situations. SPECIAL WEBINAR - 3/8/22, 2-3 p.m. ET – Proven Safety Countermeasures. This webinar from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) was hosted by ATSSA's Roadway Worker Protection Council, with FHWA Office of Safety Technologies Director Mike Griffith as the speaker. FHWA’s proven safety countermeasures initiative (PSCi) is a collection of countermeasures and strategies effective in reducing roadway fatalities and serious injuries on our nation’s highways. 11/9/21, 2-3 p.m. ET – Road Safety 101. This webinar provides an overview of current safety trends, technology, and innovations changing the road safety world. Participants will learn about what is happening in the larger transportation industry (ex. autonomous vehicles, Vision Zero programming, micromobility) to inform scope and identify partnership opportunities.
