(Jan. 20, 2021) – The American Traffic Safety Services Association today unveiled its new membership magazine, Roadway Safety. The magazine was redesigned and renamed to better reflect the Association’s core purpose, which is to advance roadway safety. The magazine will be distributed quarterly, with the inaugural issue online today. Supplements will accompany the magazine twice each year. ATSSA sought input from members and internal stakeholders in undertaking a new vision for the publication, previously known as The Signal. The redesign also includes a new direction for content. Articles will focus on industry trends, business issues and roadway safety innovations rather than events, which will be highlighted in other forms of communication such as the ATSSA blog, website and social media channels including Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. “Roadway Safety magazine will provide valuable information for our members as they seek to provide the best tools to achieve the goal of the roadway safety infrastructure industry, which is to move toward zero deaths on our streets and highways,” ATSSA President & CEO Stacy Tetschner said. “I’m excited to kick off 2021 with a refresh of our Association magazine, which I think will be well-received by our members and a valuable resource to our roadway safety partners in the public and private sectors.” The inaugural issue features a look at the issue of safety on tribal roads and a transportation center in Connecticut that has garnered interest from other states. It also includes a few mainstays from our prior magazine such as a one-on-one interview with a Department of Transportation official and another from a leader in one of our membership chapters. The American Traffic Safety Services Foundation, the charitable arm of ATSSA, awards scholarships annually to dependents of people killed or permanently disabled in work zone incidents to help them pursue their dreams. ### ATSSA’s core purpose is to advance roadway safety. ATSSA represents the roadway safety industry with effective legislative advocacy and a far-reaching member partnership. The Association also leads the nation in work zone safety training and education for roadway workers across the country. ATSSA members accomplish the advancement of roadway safety through the design, manufacture and installation of road safety and traffic control devices. Visit ATSSA.com to learn more.
