(Jan. 7, 2021) – The American Traffic Safety Services Association selected nine companies to participate in its 2021 New Products Rollout event, which is held in conjunction with the 51st Annual Convention & Traffic Expo being held online over two weeks in February. Typically, more than 3,700 people attend the largest roadway safety tradeshow in North America to see some of the latest innovations in the roadway safety infrastructure industry. The products submitted as part of NPRO are comprised of a wide range of devices designed to save lives on our nation’s roadways. This year’s Convention is being held Feb. 8-12 and 16-18. “The 2021 lineup will be presented on Feb. 16 during ATSSA’s New Products Rollout Live Show, which takes place on the Convention & Traffic Expo online platform,” said ATSSA Director of Innovation & Technical Services Eric Perry. “This event features products released in 2020 that give a snapshot of some of the latest advancements for the roadway safety infrastructure industry.” This year, NPRO participants will provide 5-minute presentations on their products from 2-3 p.m. EST on Feb. 16 in front of attendees and a panel of ATSSA Innovation Award judges who serve in public transportation positions. The judges will select the top two products, which are then announced as winners of the ATSSA Innovation Awards during ATSSA’s Circle of Innovation, held from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. EST on Feb. 18. Award winners also get the opportunity to present their winning products during the Circle of Innovation, which is attended by key members of the industry. Product: ConeIQ uses technology to simplify building of work zones and improve traffic control safety with a digital record. Company: Elecsys, Olathe, Kan. Product: RoadConnect/ImpactAlert is a cloud-based software platform for DOTs to manage roadside safety device inventory. Company: Horizon Signal, Reading, Pa. Product: Work Zone Speed Control System identifies speeding vehicles approaching the work zones and presents them with a red signal before entering the work zone. Company: PPP Transportation Safety Innovations, Jacksonville, Fla. Product: X-Marker is a temporary traffic control device to identify closed lanes. Company: Royal Innovative Solutions, Coopersburg, Pa. Product: Level 3 Technology Package is for truck-mounted attenuators to aid work zone safety. Company: Sales Solutions Inc., Martinsburg, W.Va. Product: +Lightline is synced with traffic lights at crosswalks to provide additional awareness for pedestrians.
