Instructor Resources

Become an instructor

ATSSA provides education and instruction to new and existing flagger instructors who teach flagger skills and facilitate learning experiences. Flagger instructors are certified and demonstrate core competencies appropriate to flagger and work zone environments. Below you will find resources needed to become an instructor and facilitate training course.

Shipping Notices: US mail is taking an unusually long time to deliver products and resources. If you need your items faster, consider paying for expedited shipping. In-person pickup of products at the ATSSA headquarters is no longer available.

Flagger Card Compliance Notice

Beginning July 1, 2021, all ATSSA flagger student kits were updated with the new serialized cards. ATSSA did not begin requiring the distribution of the new cards to students until January 1, 2022 (compliance date) and ample time was given to all flagger instructors to exhaust their existing inventory. Communications were sent out on June 30 and Oct. 13, 2021, as well as a discount Flagger Kit promotion on Dec. 1, 2021 (view the sample communications), to all concerned alerting of this change.

Please be advised that we are no longer accepting cards issued without serial numbers and states have been advised that they shall not be accepted. Refunds for old inventory will not be provided.
