2024 Convention & Traffic Expo starts Friday

ATSSA’s 2024 Convention & Traffic Expo features a history-making female fighter pilot, the chair of the National Transportation Safety Board and more education sessions than anyone could squeeze into the 5-day event.

Plus, ATSSA has scheduled five sessions devoted to exploring the recently updated version of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), the national standard for traffic signs, signals and pavement markings that is used daily by members of the roadway safety industry. National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (NCUTCD) Chair Gene Hawkins will participate as will other NCUTCD leadership.

ATSSA’s Annual Convention & Traffic Expo, set for Feb. 2-6 in San Diego, is the premier event for the roadway safety infrastructure industry and will be attended by thousands of professionals representing all facets of the industry including members of departments of transportation from across the country.

Here are some highlights:

Feb. 2:

The Sporting Clays Event and Golf Classic Tournament where ATSSA members enjoy friendly competition to benefit the ATSS Foundation, the charitable arm of ATSSA.

Feb. 3:

Committee and Council meetings where members delve into the details of roadway safety infrastructure developments to advance roadway safety.

Feb. 4:

Opening General Session featuring keynote Carey Lohrenz, the Navy’s first female fighter pilot for the F-14 Tomcat, who will talk about high risk and high reward.

Announcement of ATSSA’s National Awards

Opening of the 250,000-square foot Traffic Expo where visitors can explore more than 230 exhibits of the latest innovations and technology in the industry.

Feb. 5:

A Government & Legislative Insights Forum featuring National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Chair Jennifer Homendy and former Rep. Rodney Davis of Illinois.

Feb. 6:

The Circle of Innovation, which will feature a panel on artificial intelligence and announcement of the Innovation Award from among entries into this year’s New Products Rollout.
