Traffic control business owner to testify Feb. 12 on barriers to roadway safety

Norman will tell House T&I subcommittee about hurdles to implementing lifesaving solutions

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Feb. 10, 2025) – Direct Traffic Control Co-Owner Haley Norman will testify before the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee’s Subcommittee on Highways & Transit on Feb. 12 about impediments businesses in the roadway safety infrastructure industry face in getting to market innovative safety solutions that could save lives.

Norman represents the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA), an organization dedicated to advancing roadway safety and moving Toward Zero Deaths on the nation’s roadways. ATSSA represents more than 1,500 companies, which account for more than 11,000 industry professionals in the sign manufacturing, pavement marking, guardrail and barrier, traffic signals and technical innovation fields.

Direct Traffic Control Inc. is a family-owned business located in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and serving Oklahoma, Kansas and western Arkansas. It provides traffic control, highway and airport markings, guardrail installation and roadway surface preparations.

Norman serves on ATSSA’s Board of Directors and Women in Roadway Safety Council.
