Without altering the usual deployment processes and at a low cost, workers can monitor a work zone’s boundaries, as well as critical elements that impact motorists such as speed changes and lane shifts. This information is seamlessly integrated with systems like the work zone data exchange (WZDx) and Waze.

NPRO 2025 Participants

Advanced Emergency Products, Old Saybrook, Connecticut
Product: Zone Command – Zone Command is an artificial intelligence (AI) powered, mobile, mounted camera system designed to protect workers and emergency personnel from an impending collision. It identifies approaching vehicles, calculates speed and stopping distance, and warns workers and emergency personnel when a vehicle is on a  collision course with the work zone area.

AllRail, Rutherfordton, North Carolina
Product: Bolt Spider – Guardrail panel, deployed where frozen precipitation is common, creates a persistent issue of seized splice nut/bolt hardware via the regular, necessary application of corrosive anti-icing chemicals to the road surface. Seized hardware creates significant workflow issues, forcing contractors to use demo/chop-saws to dismantle panels, leading to multiple injuries among road crew personnel each year.

Asynt Solutions, Columbus, Ohio
Product: Ape Barrier – The Ape Barrier is a Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware (MASH) TL-3 accredited longitudinal barrier comprised of E-glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP/Fiberglass). The high strength-to-weight ratio of this material allows the barriers to be very light and yet very strong. The material is also inert to salt and roadway de-icing chemicals, extending the usable life to more than 25 years.

DOW, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania
Product: DOW™ Specification Tracker – This is a  digital service platform designed to empower the road markings industry with an interactive, centralized database of U.S. waterborne traffic paint specifications. As autonomous vehicle (AV) adoption accelerates and safety measures tighten, reliable road markings become more crucial. However, the relevant regulations are highly fragmented, with each state having its own specifications and no consolidated database previously available. This digital dashboard compiles over 100 critical requirements from over 50 specification documents, offering a user-friendly interface for searching, visualization and analysis of specifications in seconds.

Lubao Smart Traffic, Huizhou, Guangdong, China
Product: Internally Illuminated Raised Pavement Marker – The LS-68A Internally Illuminated Raised Pavement Marker (IIRPM) offers multi-angle visibility, providing a vertical illumination range of 0°-15° and a 22.5° expanded side angle for enhanced driver visibility. It meets ASTM D4280 standards, is built to withstand over 20,000 pounds of pressure, and is snow-plow resistant, making it ideal for high-traffic and harsh environments. It is solar powered and offers over 32 hours of continuous lighting after full charge.

Moovop, Quebec, Canada
Product: TALL42 – TALL42™ is a 42-inch concrete moveable barrier designed for maximum safety, fully compliant with MASH TL-4 standards to dramatically reduce truck rollover risk. Its height decreases headlight glare for bidirectional traffic, enhancing visibility for drivers and workers. The T-shaped lifting head allows for smooth, precise configuration changes with a barrier transfer machine, making it ideal for temporary or permanent setups in high traffic areas.

NextGen Safety, Kosciusko, Mississippi
Product: Next Generation Terminal (NGT) – The NGT is a MASH TL-3, non-gating W-beam guardrail end terminal. Tested in excess of 75 mph, the NGT can perform on high-speed corridors where the most fatalities and serious injuries occur. With the shortest length-of-need, the NGT gives departments of transportation (DOTs) and roadside designers maximum flexibility when designing guardrail layouts. The NGT features fewer unique parts and can be installed in 45 minutes or less.

Pretred, Aurora, Colorado
Product: Colorado Barrier – The Colorado Barrier is a MASH-16 TL2 sustainable rubber barrier made in the U.S. from 95% recycled waste tires. It has a 283% lower carbon footprint than concrete barriers and is designed to enhance safety with its ability to absorb and disperse impact energy more effectively than concrete barriers. Rubber barriers have a level of flexibility, won’t shatter on impact and are easier to install and reposition, enhancing safety for workers.
